This is the hot tub Jerry wants now! Last night when he was in it, it even had a waterfall
cascading off the flat rock in the center!
Did our laundry and headed out on Highway 59 toward Houston. Stopped along side of the road and had a little lunch. We then found the Space Center Houston!thought we would spend an hour or so and they had to kick us out at closing time!
The real mission control form the 1960's I got a little teary! Hearing John Kennedy's speech and Cronkite's news broadcast when we first walked on the moon.
Space vehicle mock up facility...seeing the future!
yep, that's me!
This is the Saturn 5 #18 that was never used because the program was stopped after the
space shuttle flight #17
Sorry, Jerry is chomping at the bit. Maybe tomorrow I can take more than 10 min to get this thing up to date!
OK, I'm back!! Today is my day! He told me so! Carla, you had us laughing so hard with your e-mail, the trailer was bouncing! wonder what folks were thinking!
The mock up of the future robot that will help the astronauts on mars
Jerry touching the moon rock. Kept in a vault with other moon rocks and dirt.
This is a recreation of the shuttle. Guess we'll have to go back to LA to see the real one!
When we left the Space center, we drove to the 10 and headed east. We were tired and hungry and I wanted to get my pictures onto discs. We stopped at a Verizon store for another techy errand and asked the kid where we should eat and the nearby customer said "you gotta try Floyds!" We drove around lost each thinking we should go the other way, it was getting dark and as I said we were tired and hungry. I finally said, lets just do something else and we may come upon it and low and behold, there it was in the same mall as Walmart! I had crawfish bisque two ways, cream sauce and dark roux. Both great but will do cream the next time. Jerry had been waiting for fried catfish. He got 1/2 order and couldn't finish it. Was a great little place!
Well, Lorna, we did boondocking!! Since we were already in the Walmart parking lot just outside of Houston, we decided to stay in a the Big Rig corner. We got the OK from the security dude and passed out! Best sleep yet!
