2/2/2013
Saturday in the city was wonderful.  The weather was perfect and soooo many people.  We parked on the northeast part of the city near where we had before and walked through a residential area and wound up at the French Market.

Residential streets like no other!

Found this at an antique store! Headdress anyone?
The French Market where they sell everything and anything.

Inventive folks,  Covered his bike with beads and put a donation can on it.

After walking the last two days we are catching that thing on Sunday!!!

We walked down to Cafe Dumonde and I got my Beignet!  A bit crowded so did the sidewalk thing with powdered sugar everywhere!!!

Saw the CBS area in Jackson square and ESPN and Comcast from the Bay Area.  We waved at ya'll

These kids were playing for their college fund!

 Beads of all sizes!

 Riverboat on the Mississippi!

Cigars being made

Our new 49er garb.  Our shirts say "Super Harbowl  New Orleans" in the 49er colors.  I have red and gold beads and of course the boa!!!
Getting a chili dog New Orleans style...Really good!

The banjo dude from the San Francisco games!  He apparently was on a morning TV show and said he didn't have a ticket and the 49ers let him buy one!

Self portrait with the camera balancing on a garbage can!

St Louis Cathedral behind Jackson Square

Oysters at the French Market Restaurant. Our waitress (from New Zealand) said it was a "happy accident" and gave them to us when she realized I couldn't eat my appetizer gumbo because it was too spicey.  She was the best waitress we have EVER had.  She took all kinds of time to explain every choice!  What a foodie!
Got to check out on the balcony at the restaurant!!

Our walk home through the streets of the French Quarter.  This is the corner of Chartres and Ursulines Ave.  Seemed to be a big spot for the youth. You can drink anywhere...Saw a lady at CVS put down her beer to pay the cashier!
On our walk back to the car spotted this in the doorway.  A crystal chandelier that reached the floor and pooled there.  This picture does not do it justice but is a wonderful reminder.
We got home a little earlier than Friday night.  Our feet were very tired.  What a day!
