2/8/13
After breakfast we continued down Bellingrath Gardens Road to the Bellingrath Gardens!  Beautiful.  A lot like Bouchardt Gardens but smaller.  Got a tour of the lovely house that was built in 1935.  The house and gardens were built by one of the original coke bottlers who made a fortune of course!

So many ideas.  This was parsley and decorative cabbage and greens!
 The Grotto

An amazing walkway around a slough

The lovely southern ladies who helped with the tours

We then drove into Mobile and found a perfect place to park us and the Casita and have been walking around the town.

We have seen the huge Cathedral, an old fort, lots of cute sailors on leave and lots of nice shops.
 The unmistakeable Mobile skyline.

One was a men's clothing shop where we have never seen such outfits.  The only thing I can do is post the pictures when I get them!!!

Hey Carlene!  This one's for you!

After we visited a great Mardi Gras store  here we decided to stay for one of their parades!!! Everyone says we should stay because Mobile is where Mardi Gras started!! Can't get enough partying in and they throw moon pies here!  We are hanging out in the trailer resting and getting our beads ready!  At least we should be dry tonight.

Dinner at Wintzell's, a shrimp boil.  We are finding we are splitting the meal every time we eat out!

Preparing for the parade!  They use barriers in Mobile!

Not part of the official parade.  Just selling trinkets
The krewe was Columbus but the theme was George!
 Curious George
 George Harrison
And the best!  George Castanza from Seinfeld!
New friends!  These sisters were so nice to help get moon pies!  Carolyn on the right brought a butterfly net!
Glad Maggie helped us find our next RV park!
