2/3/2013
It's finally here Superbowl Sunday!!!!  Was able to find a parking spot exactly where we parked on Friday!  Right next to the $20 parking lot and we didn't have to pay! (more about that later!)
Took the Street Car (Not a trolley or cable car!) to the other end of the French Quarter  to look for a place to watch the game and came upon Cynthia Girtley's Gospel!!!  She says she is  New Orleans's Gospel Diva and We Had Church!!!  I want a church like that!!!  She said that in New Orleans they don't go to or attend church, they Have Church.  They go knowing it will be fun and everyone participates and does what feels right to them.  Some dance in the isles, some raise their hands, and it doesn't matter if you can't carry a tune. No one cares and everyone loves the Lord! in their own way.  No judgement just fun.

Jerry enjoying church in his way...No really, he was loving it!
Getting lunch!  Out of Alligator so settled for a shrimp po-boy

 Lots of Raven fans!!!

Lots of patrol boats on the muddy beautiful Mississippi

I suppose you saw this on TV.  30 feet tall!

Checked out Harrah's for a place to watch.  It ain't no Blue Lake!! $250 just to be able to sit down!
Watching people watch for the players come out of their hotel.
Ravens fans with Superbowl Ring hats (prophetic?)
Sweet little New Orleans family who were so excited to give us ideas of what to do, where to park, What tastes good!  I was writing on my map as they talked over each other!  Love those guys!

 Balloon hat
 The silver painted guy
Jerry and I each got some beads from these revelers!  And didn't have to show em anything!
Where we finally decided to watch the game!  An all day search!!!
5 guys drove from Tuscon ..3 49er fans, 1 Raven fan and a Raider fan.  Took them 19 hours of driving.  They stayed Sat night in Baton Rouge and were going to drive back after the game!  The guy on the right was not drunk, just a bad picture. He and his brother in the middle were born in Eureka and grew up in Santa Rosa!!!!  They didn't have enough people to sit at the table Jerry and I sat down at so they came over and asked to sit with us and the owners didn't make any of us move.  Jerry and I had front row seats in front of a 4ft x8ft projection screen!!!!  Really a fun game.  Jerry is going through a bit of withdrawal (Sue, that doesn't look right but spell check says it is!) already!

Took the street car back to our car and we had a parking ticket for parking too close to the intersection! $40.  We sent the money with a note to plea for mercy and being from California!!!
